Quite a strenuous walk starting on Gradbach Lane taking in Lud’s Church, The Roaches, Hen Cloud and Ramshaw Rocks.
This route is a must, especially in the summer. The walk starts out on Gradbach Lane and climbs through the forest to the stunning Lud’s Church gorge which in itself makes the climb worthwhile.
We then carry on up to the ridge of The Roaches which on a good day gives splendid views and fantastic photo opportunities with the natural rock formations and pool at the top.
From the top, we get a great view of Hen Cloud which is a steep descent and quick climb away which almost looks like something out of a Sci-Fi film coming out of the ground!
From Hen Cloud we drop through a forest before making our final climb of the day to Ramage Rocks with views over to Leek in the distance.
